Experience the best of The National WWII Museum with an official guide in just two hours in our newest small-group tour of the Museum's world-class exhibits. Starting in The Arsenal of Democracy: The Herman and George R. Brown Salute to the Home Front, you’ll learn about the rise of Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan, the growing tensions in the interwar period, and how the United States entered World War II.
In the Campaigns of Courage: European and Pacific Theaters pavilion, your guide will walk you through the chronological narrative of each theater of combat, bringing to life the drama, sacrifices, personal stories, and strategies of America’s campaign to defeat the Axis powers and preserve freedom. In the Richard C. Adkerson & Freeport-McMoRan Foundation Road to Tokyo: Pacific Theater Galleries, you’ll journey through fierce battles at sea, into Guadalcanal’s “Green Hell,” and across Pacific Island footholds toward a decisive atomic end to the war. In The Duchossois Family Road to Berlin: European Theater Galleries, you’ll travel the road to victory from the sands of North Africa, through the skies of Europe, across the Ardennes Forest in the Battle of the Bulge, and into the ruins of the Third Reich.
Next, your guide will take you through Liberation Pavilion, The National WWII Museum’s final permanent exhibit hall. You’ll learn of the price paid by American servicemembers in service to their country, the horrors of the Holocaust, and the rebuilding efforts in the aftermath of the largest armed conflict in human history. Explore the lasting legacies of World War II, including technological innovations, movements for social change and civil rights, and the emergence of the US as a world “superpower.”
Your tour will finish in US Freedom Pavilion: The Boeing Center, where you will be in awe of the Museum’s six fully restored warbirds soaring overhead and other iconic WWII vehicles on display.
