Arsenal of Democracy media exhibit at the National WWII Museum

Arsenal of Democracy Guided Tour

Telling the story of how the war was won is at the heart of The National WWII Museum’s mission. In this exclusive small-group guided tour of The Arsenal of Democracy: The Herman and George R. Brown Salute to the Home Front—it brings that story home. During this experience, an official Museum guide will explore the road to war and how the war was fought on the Home Front. Allied victory was an epic undertaking fueled by stateside industry, ingenuity, and the labor of millions of patriotic Americans. Your guide will highlight the sacrifices, difficulties, and triumphs of everyday Americans in the war effort, especially women, African Americans, and Japanese Americans. Learn more about one of the largest mobilization stories of the war, the Manhattan Project, detailing the massive scientific, technological, and military effort which ushered in the Atomic Age. Your guide will take the group through multimedia and interactive displays, and drawing on artifacts and oral histories from the Museum’s extensive collections, The Arsenal of Democracy guided tour creates countless opportunities for visitors to make personal connections with the men and women who helped win the war.

This exclusive experience is offered at 10:00 a.m. (based on availability and seasonal demand).
